Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship Description

The Edinburgh Global Research Scholarships is a highly competitive scheme. The scholarship is targeted at students with outstanding academic merit and research potential to enable them to undertake a PhD Research Programme in any field of study at the University of Edinburgh.

Value of Scholarship:

Each Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship will cover the difference between the tuition fee for a UK/EU graduate student and that chargeable to an overseas graduate student. The amount of the scholarship is influenced by the course of study a qualified candidate is undertaking

The Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship will not cover any maintenance expenses.

The scholarship award will last for three years.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship, applicants must;

·        Be a full-time PhD student undertaking a research work on any course offered at the University of Edinburgh

·        Be an international student liable to pay a tuition fee

·        Have high academic profile or be outstanding academically

·        Have achieved a minimum of second class upper in your Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. However, considering that the Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship programme is a highly competitive scheme, it is important you make a first-class supplemented by an excellent master’s degree.

·        Not hold any other scholarship at the time of applying for the scholarship

Application Process:

Application for the Edinburgh Global Research Scholarship will be done online. Applicants will submit an online application at the application form which is found on the official website. The official website is provided below.

Note: Applicants for PhD Economics with integrated study for 4 years will be unable to apply for this scholarship via MyEd.
